Snowy Lakeside California Elopement | Winter Wedding Inspiration

This session was an absolute dream to plan and to shoot, and I knew it would be a perfect passion project for me to complete this winter, as it's something I'd been dying to get to capture for years now. As a California elopement photographer I still have never been able to book a snow elopement as of yet, so I figured, why not just make it happen myself?

Since I didn't want to go through the trouble of finding a dress and a model, I decided I'd reached out to my beautiful friend Emily and her new husband Byron who I had captured last year for their engagement photos. They recently tied the knot and I thought it would be a fun way for someone to get some extra bridal photos during the same year as their wedding, and it would be just as much of a fun memory to look back on years from now. I was thrilled to hear that she loved the idea as much as I did!

In the beginning, I hadn't even considered getting florals for the session until the idea popped into my brain about 3 days prior to the date we had chosen. I figured, why not just reach out to my local floral artist Susan at Sweet Lilacs and see if she would be interested in collaborating in the project, and I'm so happy she was because the stars aligned when I saw the gorgeous winter bouquet she threw together last-minute for me was absolutely incredible.

All in all, I consider this gorgeous winter elopement styled-session to have been a huge success, and I'm so excited to share these images with you all!
